Type AD-HVT - Flat Composite Discs for Protection of High Voltage Transformers

Description
The Fike AD-HVT series bursting discs are low-pressure relief devices. They have been specifically designed for overpressure protection of vessels operating near to atmospheric conditions. The flat composite discs consist of several components that form a single unit. The design principle used to ensure a predictable bursting pressure is a tension failure of a mechanically weakened top section. The fluoropolymer / Aluminium seal member transmits the pressure load on to the top section, which controls the burst pressure. The seal member being fluoropolymer, offers excellent corrosion resistance and performance characteristics. Asbestosfree gaskets are bonded to both process and atmospheric sides of the disc and as the disc is flat it can be mounted between standard ANSI 150 and DIN PN10 raised-face flanges without a disc holder. (Other flange ratings are available on request.)
Features and Benefits
- Same burst pressure in both directions, offering a fail-safe burst behaviour
- Fast, unrestricted opening in case of internal overpressure
- Geometry, size and opening pressure adaptable to individual applications
Applications
The Fike AD-HVT series bursting discs has been developed to protect high voltage transformer against overpressure damage in case of an internal electric accident. They will allow for safe pressure relief without hazards of transformer envelope parts becoming fragments.
